The Human Rights Campaign is spotlighting the voices of African-American LGBT leaders and allies as part of HRC’s Black History Month series. Check out this post from Alexis Wilson, a writer, artist, speaker, and the author of the memoir Not So Black and White. In the post, this talented daughter of two professional dancers talks about how her greatest strength is being different than others.

This month, let’s celebrate what makes us different and learn about the struggles others have faced because of it.
